Insert the needle -eye down- in one of the two funnels, and drop the thread in the slit. One side of the threader is for large eye needles, the opposite side is for small eye needles. Move the white slider sideways, pull the thread end through, and take your needle out. Voila! There is your threaded needle!

How it Works

There are two ‘funnels’ (one for an ordinary needle and one for large ones) in which you place the needle, eye down. Next, you lay the thread in a gulley next to the funnel and move the white slider sideways. Believe it or not, the thread pops through the needle eye in a twinkle of your own eye - pure magic! A small metal plate pushes the thread through the needle eye and it peeks out at the side of the little machine. Grab the loop with your hand and pull one thread end completely through and take the needle out, putting your fingers over the eye to prevent the thread from coming out.. Your needle is threaded!

The Madam Sew, Sand & Stone, Cotton Thread Set consists of eight neutral tones that are great for quilting and sewing. These colors work well with a variety of fabric colors and prints making this a basic and versatile thread choice to add to your collection.

The thread is made of 100% long-staple, mercerized cotton. This is important as you’ll get less lint which means less fuzz building up at your needle and less thread breakage. Use a 90/14 - 100/16 universal needle. We tested this thread with the 90/14 universal sewing machine needle and it worked fine. It’s always best to test on a two piece swatch to see how it sews. If it doesn’t run through smoothly, switch up to a higher needle size.

Each set consists of eight small cross-wound thread spools of 180 yards each for a total of 1,440 yards of thread in the set.

The below picture shows the colors of the thread spools in this set. Please be aware that there may be a little variance from the actual colors based on your monitor or phone. 

Weight:

Our thread is a 50s/3 thread, which means there are three plies twisted together to make the thread.

Instructions & More

Use a 90/14 - 100/16 universal needle. We tested this thread with the 90/14 universal sewing machine needle and it worked fine. It’s always best to test on a two piece swatch to see how it sews. If it doesn’t run through smoothly, switch up to a higher needle size.
