COTTON THREAD SET - Greens! For Quilting and Sewing - 8 Spools, 4 Colors, 180 Yards Each

The Madam Sew, Greens, Cotton Thread Set consists of four thread colors, two spools each, in the green family. Perfect for nature, floral, Easter, Spring and baby or children related fabrics and projects.

The thread is made of 100% long-staple, mercerized cotton. So, you’ll get less lint which means less fuzz building up at your needle and less thread breakage. Because it is cotton thread, it won’t be overly shiny and you’ll also be able to use it for any application where the end project will go in a microwave, like a Bowl Cozy or Potato Sack.

Use this thread if you are looking for a quilt thread that will add depth, texture, dimension and pop to your quilt top then this thread set is a must to try. The 50s/3 thread is made of three 50wt plies and has a final weight of 30. It’s thicker than thin 50wt threads so it won’t melt into the background. Instead, your quilting will have an opportunity to shine and your project will be strong enough to hold up to repeated washing or wear.

Each set consists of eight small cross-wound thread spools of 180 yards each for a total of 1,440 yards of thread in the set.

Colors:

The below picture shows the colors of the thread spools in this set. Please be aware that there may be a little variance from the actual colors based on your monitor or phone. 

Weight:

Our thread is a 50s/3 thread, which means there are three 50wt plies twisted together to make the thread. The final result when using the “weight system” of measurement is a weight of 30. That is because 30 kilometers of our thread weighs 1 kilogram.

Use a 90/14 - 100/16 universal needle. We tested this thread with the 90/14 universal sewing machine needle and it worked fine. It’s always best to test on a two piece swatch to see how it sews. If it doesn’t run through smoothly, switch up to a higher needle size.
