Shank Adapters for Sewing Machines

If your low shank machine uses screw-on presser feet

Most home sewing machines fall into the low shank category, including virtually all Brother, Singer, Janome, Toyota, and Kenmore models. If your machine came with screw-on feet, it does not mean you are stuck with them. The Low Shank Snap-on Adapter slips onto your existing ankle and converts it to snap-on in about 30 seconds, no screwdriver needed after that. Low shank machines are identified by measuring the distance between the needle bar screw and the bottom of the presser foot ankle: under 1 inch is low shank.

For high high shank ankles

High shank machines have a taller presser foot ankle than standard, typically measuring 1 inch or more from the needle bar screw to the ankle base. Older Singer machines and some Husqvarna models fall into this category, and low shank feet will not sit correctly on them without the right adapter. The High Shank Snap-On Adapter uses the same click-on mechanism as the low shank version, just sized for high shank ankles. Once fitted, you swap feet in a single downward click. If you are unsure whether your machine is high or low shank, check the ankle height with a ruler.

For Bernina machines

If you own a Bernina and have tried to use universal presser feet before, you already know the problem: standard low or high shank feet do not fit a Bernina ankle. The Bernina Adapters solve this by converting your machine to accept universal snap-on feet, which matters because Bernina-branded replacement feet are priced considerably higher than universal alternatives doing the same job.
