Every pillow you made goes into a Chemo Care Kit from Beyond Basic Needs, sent to people who have just started cancer treatment. Alongside comfy socks, lip balm and other goodies, your pillow is the piece patients reach for every time they get in the car.
The problem
Seatbelts press right against chemo ports, making every car ride to treatment painful.
What you made
A soft cushion with a Velcro strap that sits between the port and the seatbelt.
The difference
Patients can travel in comfort and hold on to a bit of normal life during treatment.
