      I purchased the magnetic seam guide and ruler to aid my young neighbor in her sewing classes. I am teaching her to sew for 4-H competition. (Junior grand champion last year!) She has trouble sewing using the markings on the needle plate so I purchased this for her use during class. Later I purchased another to give to her for use at home. She doesn't sew much at home and I thought this would give her a little motivation to work at home. The hour and half at my house per week isn't enough---she has to work at home and I am hoping this will help. I do like the guide. I don't use it for myself b/c sewing for over65 years (since age 11) I really don't need it but for my young student it is a great help. The only problem I have, using it on my 1974 Elna SU62 machine, the magnet doesn't work on the painted bed of the machine; it works only on the exposed metal area, some of which is exposed metal due to the age of the machine. I do have two newer machines, which also embroider, but my workhorse is the mechanical Elna 62. I rarely sew on the embroidery machines.
