Pros
- We built this guide to solve one of the most common frustrations in quilting: inconsistent seam allowances. The magnetic base locks into position on your machine so your fabric feeds at the exact same width every single time.
- The built-in seam guide ruler lets you measure and set your allowance without reaching for a separate tool. Your setup is done before you thread the needle.
- Whether you are piecing quilt blocks, sewing garments, or working on precise topstitching, consistent seam allowances are the foundation of professional results. This guide keeps you there.
Cons
- The magnetic base relies on a metal surface to grip properly. Some modern machines, including certain Janome and Bernina models, have plastic bobbin covers or limited metal areas near the needle. That can make positioning a real challenge.
- Alignment takes a little patience at first. Some customers have found it tricky to line up correctly when getting started. We recommend watching the tutorial video before your first use to make sure you are placing it in the right spot for your machine.
- If you use a scant quarter-inch seam allowance, which many quilters swear by for perfect block matching, this guide currently does not include that measurement. That is feedback we are taking seriously.
