Scissor Sharpening

Madam Sew has often been asked to bring a scissor sharpener to our store because sometimes scissors are worked hard and they become dull. 

During our search for a solution, we learned that, unlike knives, there is no safe scissor sharpener available because all scissors are formed differently and have many angles to their specialized blades. 

So if any of the scissors you own ever become dull…don’t sharpen them yourself. They should only be sharpened, if needed, by a professional scissor sharpener. Using a knife sharpener or sharpening them yourself could lead to damaged blades and risk of injury.
