Precision Pressing Station
PRECISION PRESSING STATION
"I've been quilting for years and my blocks were always a little off. The seam guide ruler and magnetic guide have completely fixed it — I set the allowance once and every seam is exactly right. Combined with the mini iron on the wool mat right next to my machine, my blocks are better than they've ever been. I wish I'd had these from the start."

Accurate seams start before you press and end after you do. The Precision Pressing Station brings together the two most important accuracy tools at your sewing machine — the Mini Iron with Mini Wool Pressing Mat for crisp, flat seams after every stitch, and the Seam Guide Ruler with Magnetic Seam Guide for consistent, perfectly measured seam allowances before every stitch.
The Seam Guide Ruler's 16 measured holes let you set your needle position to any allowance from ⅛" to 2" in seconds. Drop the Magnetic Seam Guide into position and your fabric feeds at exactly that width — every single time, every single seam. Then press each seam on the 9"×11" wool mat with the mini iron, and the dense wool ensures both sides of the fabric receive heat for a flat, crisp finish that stays flat.
Three tools. Two stages of precision. One seamless workflow from stitch to press.
Why You'll Love It
- Set Your Seam Allowance Once — Sew It Perfectly Every Time — The Seam Guide Ruler's 16 holes cover every common allowance from ⅛" to 2". Insert the needle into the correct hole, place the Magnetic Seam Guide where the ruler edge sits, and every seam you sew from that point is precisely that width. No re-measuring, no drifting.
- A Pressing Surface That Works as Hard as Your Iron — The 100% felted New Zealand wool mat doesn't just protect your table — its density means heat from the mini iron is absorbed and radiated back through the underside of the fabric too. Seams pressed on wool are noticeably flatter and crisper than seams pressed on a padded ironing board, because the fabric is heated from both sides simultaneously.
- Mini Iron at Your Machine = No More Interruptions — A mini iron and compact wool mat on the corner of your sewing table means you press seams the moment you sew them — without getting up, without moving to an ironing board, and without losing the rhythm of your project. This is especially important for quilters who press after every seam.
- Accuracy at Every Seam — Before and After — The Seam Guide Ruler ensures you sew consistently; the wool mat and mini iron ensure you press consistently. Together they address the two most common causes of misaligned blocks and uneven garments: seam drift and inadequate pressing.
- The Magnetic Seam Guide Is Repositionable in Seconds — When your project calls for a different seam allowance, use the ruler to re-set the guide instantly. No tools, no measuring tape — just needle in hole, guide in position, sew.

- Material: Rigid acrylic
- Features: 16 pre-drilled holes for seam allowances from ⅛" to 2"; ¼" pivot cross for marking corner pivot points; 45° line for trimming small half-square triangles; doubles as a small measuring ruler
- Use: Insert sewing machine needle into desired hole to set and confirm exact seam allowance; mark pivot points for binding and corner stitching
- Magnetic Seam Guide (included FREE):
- Size: Approx. ½" × 2"
- Material: Steel with magnet
- Features: Strong magnet attaches securely to any metal needle plate; repositionable without tools; guides fabric edge for consistent seam allowance with every pass; safe for computerised sewing machines
- Use: Place at seam allowance width set by Seam Guide Ruler to guide fabric during sewing; works for 5/8" and wider seam allowances; for ¼" seams, position before the presser foot or move needle fully right
- Compatibility: Works on most sewing machines with a metal needle plate; requires minimum 1.5" of flat metal throat plate surface
- Set up your pressing station. Place the Mini Wool Pressing Mat on your sewing table within arm's reach of your machine. Heat the Mini Iron to the appropriate temperature for your fabric and place it on its rest.
- Set your seam allowance with the Seam Guide Ruler. Place the ruler on your sewing machine's needle plate under the presser foot. Lower the needle through the hole that corresponds to your seam allowance (e.g. the ¼" hole for quilting, the ⅝" hole for garments). The ruler shows you exactly where the fabric edge needs to sit.
- Position the Magnetic Seam Guide. With the needle lowered through the ruler hole, place the magnetic seam guide flush against the right edge of the ruler. The magnet will click firmly into position on the metal throat plate. Raise the needle and remove the ruler — the guide stays exactly in place.
- Sew your seam. Align your fabric's raw edge against the magnetic guide and sew. The guide holds the fabric at the exact seam allowance width you set — no wandering, no measuring between seams. Every seam in this session will be identical in width.
- Press immediately on the wool mat. After sewing, carry the piece to the mini iron and wool mat. Place the sewn piece on the mat, seam-side up. Press firmly with the mini iron for 3–5 seconds — with or without steam per your fabric type. The wool mat radiates heat from below, setting the seam flat and crisp from both sides.
- Return to sewing. With the seam guide still in position and the pressing mat ready, you move back and forth seamlessly between machine and press without re-measuring or re-setting anything. For a different seam allowance, reposition the guide using the ruler in under 30 seconds.
