Metal Snap Buttons & Jeans Buttons Manual

This is the manual that goes with our 100 pcs metal button kit– a set with jeans buttons and snap fasteners.

To install both types of buttons, you’ll need the set, your project, and a hammer.

INSTALL A METAL SNAP BUTTON

To install 1 button you need 4 button parts, the 4 included hammer tools, and a hammer.

4 button parts:

              •     • a (female) cap
                      • a socket
          •       • a stud
          •       • a close post (or a male cap or an eyelet)

4 hammer tools:

              •     • a hole puncher
                      • a hole puncher
          •       • a concave anvil
          •       • a tray or base

Step 1: Poke a hole in the fabric with a hammer and the hole puncher and put the tray underneath.

Step 2: Put the fabric between the cap and socket. The cap goes through the fabric and the socket covers the cap tip. Now take the pointed anvil, put the point in the socket, and hammer it vertically to attach the cap and socket. Put the little metal tray underneath the cap.

Step 3: Poke another hole in the fabric with the hole puncher tool and a hammer on the tray.

Step 4: Put the fabric between the close post and the stud. The close post goes through the fabric, and the stud covers the close post at the other side of the fabric. Now take the concave anvil, put the concave end over the stud, position the tray underneath, and vertically hammer it to attach the close post and stud.

Ready!

INSTALL A JEANS BUTTON

To install 1 button, you need 2 button parts (the top button or cap and the tack/nail), the hole puncher, the tray, and a hammer.

Step 1: Poke a hole in the fabric with a hammer and the hole puncher, then put the tray underneath.

Step 2: Put the fabric between the cap and the nail. The nail goes through the fabric and the cap covers the nail tip. Now position the cap on the tray and hammer vertically on the flat piece of the nail to attach the cap and the nail.

Step 3: Ready!
