I started sewing at 8 years old. I had to teach myself because my mom had 6 kids and she was too busy. She bought me 2 yards of inexpensive fabric and she let me use her old treadle machine ( no bobbin) and I loved it! I’ve been sewing ever since. I could sew everyday.

Started sewing as a 4-H project at age 9. Sewed my own clothes thru High School & College because Ready-makes were too short in the 70’s when bellbottoms were the rage! Wasn’t cool if your bell bottoms “belled” at the wrong place! Have sewn ever since for 56 more years! Favorite project, among MANY over the years, was turning my Mom’s 75 yr old Bridal Gown into Christening Clothes, a gown for the girls & a suit for the boys, worn by her Great Grandchildren!

I started sewing when I was 13 on a treadle machine I bought at a garage sale. Practiced lots then started on easy patterns. Moved up to a basic Kenmore when I was 19. Made all my kids and my clothes when they were young. I have a computer machine now. I only use about a tenth of what it can do. I miss my treadle machine.

I buy anything that will help me thread a needle or my old sewing machines!
