The Complete Cutting Station

A clean, accurate cut is where every quilt begins — and this bundle gives you everything you need to make it. The Complete Cutting Station pairs the Madam Sew 45mm Rotary Cutter with the Self-Healing Rotating Cutting Mat, five replacement blades, a Ruler Grip, and a hard-body Rotary Cutter Case.

The rotating mat is the difference-maker. Instead of walking around your table or lifting and repositioning fabric mid-cut, you simply spin the mat — your fabric stays exactly in place. Add the ruler grip for firm, safe control of any quilting ruler, five fresh tungsten blades for uninterrupted cutting, and the zippered case to store the whole kit safely between sessions.

This is the bundle Alice reaches for when it is time to cut. One purchase, zero excuses.

Why You'll Love It

• Spin the Mat, Not Yourself — The self-healing rotating cutting mat spins a full 360° on a lockable mechanism, so you stay in the right cutting position at all times. No more walking around the table, no more lifted fabric shifting out of alignment — just clean, accurate cuts from every angle.
• The All-Purpose 45mm Cutter, Done Right — The 45mm is the quilter's go-to size for a reason: large enough to cut multiple fabric layers quickly, nimble enough for curves and corners. The ergonomic, symmetrical handle works for both right and left-handed users, and the sliding safety guard protects when the cutter is not in use.
• Five Sharp Blades Mean Five Projects of Perfect Cutting — Cutting with a dull blade forces you to press harder, which is where both inaccuracy and injury risk rise. The SKS-7 tungsten steel replacement blades in this bundle keep your cutter performing at its sharpest through every project.
• Move Your Ruler Safely, Every Time — The Ruler Grip's suction cup attaches firmly to any smooth quilting ruler, keeping your fingers well above the blade while repositioning with precision. It is one of those tools you wonder how you ever cut without.
• Store It All in One Zippered Case — The hard-body Rotary Cutter Case holds the 45mm cutter, spare blades, and even small tools like scissors or a seam ripper, with dedicated pockets and elastic bands on both sides. Safe between sessions, and compact enough to toss into a project bag for retreats and classes.

5. Rotary Cutter Case

• Construction: Durable hard-body exterior; zippered closure
• Capacity: Fits 28–60mm rotary cutters; two internal pockets with elastic bands
  • Larger pocket: holds the rotary cutter (secured by elastic band)
  • Smaller pocket: holds spare blades, small scissors, or small tools such as tweezers or a sewing stiletto
• Use: Safe storage and transport for the rotary cutter between sessions; compact enough to fit inside a project bag
• Safety note: Place cutter in the larger pocket with the blade guard engaged; do not grab the cutter by the blade area when loading

1. Set up the rotating mat on your cutting surface. Place it on a flat, stable table. The non-slip base holds it firmly in place. Leave it in locked position (sliders outward) to start — it behaves like a standard cutting mat.

2. Attach the Ruler Grip to your quilting ruler. Wipe both the ruler surface and suction cup with a clean, dry cloth. Pull the handle open, press the suction cup firmly onto the ruler, and lock the handle. Your ruler is now safe to grip and position without placing fingers near the blade path.

3. Make your first cuts standing up. Align your ruler on the fabric using the mat's grid lines. With the Ruler Grip holding the ruler steady, roll the 45mm cutter firmly away from your body in one smooth pass. Use the blade guard when the cutter is not actively in the cut.

4. Spin the mat to reach any angle without moving the fabric. When you need to cut at a different angle or from a different side, slide the mat's sliders inward to unlock it, spin to your new position, and lock again. The fabric stays exactly where you placed it.

5. Trim and square up blocks. Use the mat's 30°, 45°, and 60° bias lines and the ⅛"–1" grid to trim half-square triangles, square up blocks, and cut binding strips — all without a separate measuring ruler for common dimensions.

6. Replace blades as soon as cuts start skipping or dragging. Unscrew the center hub, swap in a fresh 45mm tungsten blade, and replace the hub. A sharp blade is safer than a dull one — never wait until the blade is completely worn out.

7. Store the cutter and blades in the case after every session. Engage the blade guard, place the cutter in the larger case pocket with the elastic band securing it, and store spare blades in the smaller pocket. Zip shut. The whole kit fits inside a project bag for classes or retreats.
