Everything you need to know about Madam Sew's Rolling Seam Presser
The Rolling Seam Presser (RSP) can be used to temporarily press seams when quilting or sewing so you don’t have to get up and down repeatedly to go to the ironing board. And you don’t have to ruin your fingernails either!
It can also be used with a steam iron to set small crisp seams.
And, It is lightweight enough to toss in your bag to take along with you to a class or sewing/quilting group.
Plus, it can be used for paper piecing, paper crafting, scrapbooking and even for pressing seams down on wall paper, if you are in a pinch.
PRESSING YOUR SEAMS
To press seams, put your sewing item on a solid work surface such as a cutting mat or table and roll the Rolling Seam Presser’s wooden wheel over your seam while applying a little pressure.
This will temporarily press your seams open so you can continue working.

USE AS A "MINI CLAPPER" TO SET SMALL SEAMS
Use a steam iron to press your seam. I press mine on our Wool Pressing Mat.
Immediately after pressing, set the wooden part of the Rolling Seam Presser (RSP) on the seam and gently hold it over the seam, then slowly roll a little and hold. You can also just slowly roll back and forth over the seam if your seam is a little longer.
Repeat this step until the fabric beneath the RSP is cool. What is happening is that the wood roller is pulling up heat and moisture from your fabric.
This will help set the seam to keep it flat and crisp.

MORE USES
Don’t limit yourself to just sewing or quilting. This little tool is great for creasing paper in paper piecing, paper crafting, card making or scrapbooking.
CREASING PAPER: VIDEO
Though the Rolling Seam Presser can be used to press down seams when putting up wallpaper (especially in tight little spots) if any of the wallpaper adhesive gets on the roller, it will compromise the Rolling Seam Presser and its use for other projects.
Then again, maybe you’ll want one for sewing/quilting and one or more for your other types of projects…just saying... ;-)
