1. Set up your rotating mat. Place the Rotating Cutting Mat on your table. Unlock the mechanism to rotate freely, or lock it (sliders out into the base notches) to use as a standard fixed mat.
2. Upgrade your rulers with Non-Slip Rings. Peel and press the transparent rings onto the back corners and centre of any ruler or template you'll use at this station — including older rulers from any brand. They grip the fabric during the cut while lifting away cleanly between cuts.
3. Clamp your layers. For multiple layers, rolled quilts, or template work, use the Jumbo Clamps to hold everything firmly in position — clamped to the fabric stack or to the table edge.
4. Cut and rotate. Trim one side of your block with the 45mm cutter along your ruler's edge, cutting away from your body. Then spin the mat to bring the next side into position — the fabric never moves, your body never contorts.
5. Mark your sewing lines. Use the 9" or 17" Quarter Inch Patchwork Ruler to mark exact ¼" and ½" sewing lines for HSTs and piecing. These rulers are for marking only — keep the rotary cutter on your cutting rulers.
6. Swap blades the moment cutting feels harder. A dull blade drags and skips. Retire it, drop in one of the five spares, and dispose of the old blade safely (wrap in tape or keep in the blade packaging).
7. Pack away safely. Cutter (guard engaged) and spare blades go into the zippered hard-body case; case and rings live at your station; mat locks flat for storage.
