Premium Quality - 11k+ 5 stars review
Celebrate nine years of Madam Sew with the Quilter's Edition of our Best Of collection — ten fan-favorite tools chosen specifically for the quilting workflow, from the first rotary cut to the signed label on the finished quilt.
Cut and square your blocks from one comfortable position on the 360° Rotating Cutting Mat with the 45mm Rotary Cutter. Mark exact ¼" sewing lines with the Quarter Inch Patchwork Ruler Set — and mark dark fabrics clearly with the White Heat Erasable Pen, whose lines vanish the moment you press. The Non-Slip Rings keep every ruler you own from sliding, the Jumbo Clamps hold layers and quilt sandwiches firmly, and the 100% New Zealand wool Pressing Mat sets every seam crisp and flat. When the last stitch is in, sign your work in brick red with the "Handmade By" Fabric Stamp and Permanent Ink Pad, and file your patterns away in the Carry-All Binder Bag until the next quilt calls.
Ten quilting essentials. One bundle. Nine years of favorites.
Why You'll Love It
- The Quilting Workflow, Start to Finish — Cut (rotating mat + rotary cutter), mark (¼" rulers + white heat-erasable pen), hold (clamps + non-slip rings), press (wool mat), sign (stamp + red ink), and store (binder bag). Every stage of a quilt covered by a fan favorite.
- Cut and Square From One Position — The 12"×12" Rotating Cutting Mat spins 360° on a lockable base, and the 45mm cutter's symmetrical handle suits right- and left-handed quilters. Squaring blocks stops being a workout.
- Mark Any Fabric, Light or Dark — The Quarter Inch Patchwork Rulers mark exact ¼" and ½" lines, and the fine-tip White Heat Erasable Pen shows clearly on dark and deep-coloured fabrics — then vanishes completely with the heat of your iron. No washing, no scrubbing.
- Press Like the Quilt Deserves — The 100% felted New Zealand wool mat absorbs and radiates heat through both sides of the fabric, setting seams flatter and crisper than any ironing board cover.
- Sign Nine Years of Craft Into Every Quilt — The "Handmade By" stamp and brick red heat-set ink put your name and date permanently on every finished quilt — the kind of detail that turns a project into an heirloom.
1. Wool Pressing Mat 17"×13½"
- Material: 100% natural felted New Zealand wool; naturally fire-resistant
- Properties: Absorbs and retains iron heat for crisper seams from both sides
- Includes: Transparent vinyl storage pouch with snap closure
- Note: Steam and moisture may seep through — protect delicate or wood surfaces
2. Rotating Cutting Mat 12"×12"
- Material: PVC, synthetic rubber, and thermoplastic; weight 26 oz
- Rotation: 360° on a smooth, lockable mechanism; non-slip base
- Markings: Grid lines at ⅛", ¼", ½", 1"; bias lines at 30°, 45°, 60°
3. Rotary Cutter — 45mm
- Blade: 45mm SKS-7 tungsten steel; length 7⅝"
- Handle: Symmetrical ergonomic loop for right- or left-handed use; sliding blade guard
4. Quarter Inch Patchwork Ruler Set
- Contents: 2 rulers — 9" and 17", both ½" wide, 3mm acrylic; non-slip backing; hanging holes
- Markings: Centre line ¼" from each edge; ¼", ½", 1" measurements reading both directions
- Safety: Marking and measuring only — not for rotary cutting
5. Non-Slip Rings for Rulers & Templates
- Type: Transparent adhesive stickers; apply to the back of any ruler or template, any brand
- Function: Improves grip during cutting, reducing slip and shift
6. White Heat Erasable Pen — 1pc Fine Tip
- Colour: White — high visibility on dark and deep-coloured fabrics
- Tip: Fine tip (0.7mm) for precise marking
- Erasure: Marks disappear with iron heat at minimum 180°F/80°C — no washing needed
- Care: Store tip-down, tightly capped; use within 5 months
- Note: Marks may return if exposed to temperatures below 32°F/0°C; allow a few seconds for white ink to appear after writing
7. Jumbo Quilting Clamps — 6-Pack
- Size: Each 6" × 4"; opens to 5"; plastic and steel; 2 pink, 2 blue, 2 green
- Use: Holding fabric layers, quilt sandwiches, and rolls; attaching layers to tables or frames
8. Carry-All Binder Bag
- Size: 13.25" × 4.5" × 11"; polyester, PU, and steel
- Features: Built-in 1" 3-ring binder; 7 transparent zip-close pockets; 10" handles; stackable, hangs from hook or door
9. "Handmade By" Fabric Stamp
- Size: 3" × 4" wood and rubber; permanent-ink stamp with space for name and date
10. Permanent Fabric Ink Pad — Brick Red
- Size: 4.75" × 3"; heat-settable — permanent after ironing; works on cotton and linen
- Prepare your rulers. Apply the transparent Non-Slip Rings to the back of any rulers and templates that need better grip — including rulers from other brands you already own.
- Cut and square on the rotating mat. Place your fabric or pressed block on the Rotating Cutting Mat (unlocked). Trim one side with the 45mm rotary cutter along your ruler, then spin the mat to bring the next side into position. Lock the mechanism to use it as a standard mat.
- Mark your piecing lines. Use the 9" or 17" Quarter Inch Patchwork Ruler to mark exact ¼" and ½" sewing lines. On dark fabrics, mark with the White Heat Erasable Pen — allow a few seconds for the white ink to appear.
- Clamp your layers. Use the Jumbo Clamps to hold quilt sandwiches together while basting, secure rolled quilts, or anchor layers to the table edge.
- Press every seam on the wool mat. The dense wool radiates heat through both sides of the fabric for crisp, flat blocks. Your pen marks disappear under the same iron — press at 180°F/80°C or above and they vanish completely.
- Sign the finished quilt. Press the "Handmade By" stamp onto the brick red ink pad, stamp your label area, write your name and date, and heat-set with a hot iron to make it permanent.
- File and store. Patterns, instructions, and templates go into the Carry-All Binder Bag's built-in binder and seven zip pockets — organized and visible until the next quilt.
