1. Assemble the bamboo stand and place it within reach of your cutting table. Assign the three scissors to three of the five slots — spring scissors in the tallest slot, pinking shears next, medium scissors in the front.
2. Begin fabric cutting with the 9.5" spring scissors. Use these for cutting out large pattern pieces and wide fabric cuts. Hold the fabric flat on the table; guide the blades along the pattern or cutting line with long, smooth cuts. The spring opens the blades after each cut — allow it to open fully before closing again.
3. Switch to the 7.5" medium scissors for detail and trimming work. For smaller pattern pieces, clipping into curved seam allowances, trimming points, or any cut that requires more control than long-blade shears can give, reach for the medium scissors.
4. Sew your seams at the machine. Press seams as you go.
5. Finish seam allowances with the pinking shears. Trim each seam allowance along its length with the pinking shears, keeping to straight edges. Align the teeth with the previous cut's zigzag pattern for a continuous, even finish. This step takes seconds per seam and eliminates fraying on most standard woven fabrics without any additional equipment.
