The Ruler That Squares Five Block Sizes
-
+Five block sizes.One ruler squares up 6", 8", 9", 10" and 12" finished blocks
-
+Seam allowance built in.No adding a quarter inch in your head
-
+Half square triangles.A bold 45° line keeps the points balanced
-
+Easy to read.Numbers big enough to read at night
You stop doing math at eleven at night.
Line your block up on the 8.5 inch line and trim, and you have an eight inch finished block with the quarter inch seam allowance in it. Same with 6.5 for a six inch block, 9.5 for a nine, 10.5 for a ten. The full twelve and a half gives you a twelve.
You are not adding a quarter inch in your head at the end of a long evening, which is when most of us make the mistake that costs the row.
- 6.5"6" finished
- 8.5"8" finished
- 9.5"9" finished
- 10.5"10" finished
- 12.5"12" finished
Round out your squaring-up kit
Each of these is a tool we would reach for right next to the ruler.

Straight from the quilters who use it.
This ruler went on sale in May. These are the words of the quilters who have picked it up since, as they wrote them.
Wish I had this ruler when I started quilting 25 years ago. It is very handy, and will be used a lot.
I got the 12.5” rule as just another size ruler to make squaring out blocks easier. Little did I know this would be the one I use regularly. Excellent ruler and it doesn’t slip like other rulers do.
I love this ruler. It’s so clear and makes it very easy to see the numbers and lines.
Great ruler to have. I bought 2 so I could gift one to my friend who quilts all the time. She didn’t have this size so it was a great feeling to be able to gift it to her. I’m sure both of us will be using this frequently!
It’s great! I had never used a square up ruler like this before. It took me a second to figure how to use this ruler. Using the ruler was better than trying to square up a block using the cutting mat.
I am not the most accurate cutter, and this tool held the fabric well so I could cut easily and accurately.
What a great ruler! Wish I would have had it long ago!
I use this ruler on nearly everything when cutting on fabric. Good quality
Very versatile. Can do so much with this ruler. GREAT PRODUCT!
Easy to use and versatile for so many sizes!!
The ruler helps me make precise cuts and blocks.
Love using this.

We've Got Answers
Use the bold 6.5 inch line instead of the outside edge. It already includes the quarter inch seam allowance, so you trim to the line and the finished block is six inches. The same works at 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5.
No. It is made for a rotary cutter on a cutting mat. A craft knife will score the edge.
Yes. The matte finish is there for exactly that. Most clear rulers disappear on navy.
It has a coating on the underside that grips fabric. You can still lift and move it without fighting it. Two of our reviewers raised this without being asked, both comparing it with rulers they already own.
Different jobs. A long ruler cuts strips. A square ruler squares a finished block, which is the step before you join them. Several customers bought this as the missing size rather than as a first ruler.
