How to Use the Braid Foot
This foot allows you to create some truly stunning effects. Including the addition of simple braidwork and also sequin strips. Perfect to use with:
• ribbons
• rick rack
• sequins
• narrow lace
• braiding
The screw can be loosened to adjust the amount of space created by the front of the foot. For smaller embellishments like braiding the front panel should be closer to the foot to give greater control.
With larger items such as rick rack and sequins the front plat should be further forward.
You can opt to thread through your braid (or other embellishment) before you attach the foot to your sewing machine with the simple clip on bar.
Once you have the braid on the foot place the fabric beneath and you are ready to sew. Select a decorative stitch, see the photo below, so cross over the braiding and you are all set.
When working with sequins you could opt to choose a simple zig zag stitch with a clear, or matching thread to secure a single strip.
Or By sewing a straight stitch down one side of the sequins you can layer them to create a stunning fish scale effect.
Always remove the work by taking it to the back of the sewing machine, after cutting off the braid.
It will pull through the foot with ease.
Top Tip: Make sure to secure the screw after moving the face plate.
