Place the wool mat on top and press your quilt block, small sewing items or crafts. The dense felted wool is naturally fire-resistant and absorbs the heat from your hot iron.

NOTE: If using steam with the wool mat, the steam and therefore moisture can penetrate through the mat and onto the work surface. For delicate or wood surfaces place a non-porous material beneath the mat to protect the surface.

Pressing becomes more accurate and faster because the pressed seams receive heat from both sides at the same time. Not only does this increase your pressing efficiency, but it also creates a very crisp and flat seam. No more puckering, wavy or stretched results.

A wool pressing mat holds the fabric better in place. The fabric pieces keep their shape. If you want, you can even pin the pieces to the mat.

Store flat in a dry place.

Rinse the mat out in your sink or bathtub with cold water and then hang it up to dry

- As this is 100% natural wool, when it gets wet (including when you use steam with the mat) it may have a slight odor…this is normal

For stains, mix a ¼ cup of white vinegar in 2 cups lukewarm water (you can add ½ teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent)

- Blot the stain with a clean, lint-free cloth before applying the vinegar solution

- Soak the stain in the vinegar solution

- Scrub gently and then blot dry with another clean cloth
