The chalk marks fade as you sew over your fabric, so this marking option may be best if you are planning not to move your project too much around.
PLEASE NOTE: As with any marking tool, always TEST TEST TEST each chalk marker on a scrap piece of fabric before moving forward with your project.
To remove the marks, just wipe or rub them off. A soft clean toothbrush works well for this. First, blow off any excess chalk powder, then gently brush over the marks. If brushing the marks doesn’t eliminate them, try dabbing the marks with a sponge dampened with water. If you iron over the marks they stay longer, but not to worry– they wash out easily because there is no wax in this product. If you are worried about marks showing on your fabric, or if you anticipate needing to iron a lot while you work, put your marks on the wrong side so it doesn’t matter if the iron hits it.
